NEW VINEYARD, Maine — A Franklin County woman is facing multiple charges after an apparent assault on her 12-year-old son, according to police.

Sherry Gray, 34, of New Vineyard was arrested after the boy reported the abuse to school officials, according to Chief Deputy Steven Lowell of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

Lowell said the boy reported the assault to a teacher, who contacted the Department of Health and Human Service, along with sheriff’s deputies.

Interviews were conducted, and Gray was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, domestic violence criminal threatening and domestic violence terrorizing, according to Lowell.

Gray was brought to Franklin County Jail and later released on bail, Lowell said. The child was not injured.
