BOWDOIN, Maine — A Limerick man was taken by a LifeFlight of Maine helicopter to Central Maine Medical Center on Wednesday night after his vehicle crashed into a tree on Route 125.
Jimmy Herring, 37, was in fair condition Thursday morning at CMMC, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Herring was headed west near the intersection of Route 201 just after 8 p.m. when his 2012 Kia Sorrento crashed into a guard rail and then a tree, according to Chief Deputy Brett Strout of the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office.
Bowdoin firefighters had to remove the vehicle’s windshield to extricate Herring, according to Bowdoin Fire Chief Tom Garrepy.
“We’re investigating it as a possible OUI, and charges may be pending,” Strout said.
