CHAPMAN, Maine — A Presque Isle man was killed Thursday evening after losing control of his pickup on Chapman Road, according to state police.

Jonathan Browning, 42, was driving his 2005 GMC pickup north Thursday when the truck left the road on the left side, causing it to skid, according to a release from Sgt. Chad Fuller of the Maine State Police. The truck then crossed the roadway to the right side, where it hit a telephone pole and rolled onto its side.

Police say Browning was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from the vehicle. He died at the scene.

The crash is under investigation, but speed is believed to be a factor.
