BUXTON, Maine — Charges have been dropped against Michael Crockett Jr., originally accused of robbing and beating a woman in Buxton.
Police say the charges were dropped on Friday because of insufficient evidence.
Crockett was accused of robbing 60-year-old Deborah Nielsen last month and injuring her using a belt sander.
Crockett’s girlfriend said they were together all night at a meeting and then a pool hall in Portland.
Police previously arrested 35-year-old Stacy Day of Buxton and 29-year-old Gregory Hoar. They both arecharged with robbery and aggravated assault.
