ALLAGASH, Maine — A Westbrook man died Saturday evening after a single vehicle crash in Allagash.

Darrell Crandall, chief deputy of the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department, said Sunday that the crash that killed Dana Watts, 23, of Westbrook occurred just after 5:30 p.m.

According to Crandall, Watts was driving his 2003 Kawasaki ZR1000 eastbound on Dickey Road, when he failed to negotiate a corner.

He careened off the road and suffered fatal injuries.

Watts was wearing a helmet, Crandall said.

He added that the crash is still under investigation, but speed appears to be a factor.
