BANGOR, Maine — There were noise complaints from Friday’s Dave Matthews Band concert on the waterfront, but they didn’t come from residents, Bangor police Sgt. Rob Angelo said Sunday.

“People inside — the concertgoers — were complaining it wasn’t loud enough,” the sergeant said.

Only one noise complaint from a “repeat caller” was taken during Friday’s sold-out concert, which packed the approximately 16,000-person capacity venue, Angelo said.

The single noise complaint is a stark difference from the 124 noise complaints received at the first concert of the 2014 season, an all-day heavy metal rock concert in May called Rise Above Fest that attracted thousands of concertgoers to the Bangor Waterfront.

Two concertgoers were arrested Friday outside the vendue, one for disorderly conduct and one on a warrant, Angelo said.

“It was a very mellow concert,” the sergeant said.
