ROCKLAND, Maine — The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a trio of burglaries over the past few days, including one which resulted in the theft of a safe with a large amount of money.
The safe theft was reported shortly after noon Monday by a homeowner in Cushing. The victims had been away from home for a few days and when they returned they found that someone had stolen a Tractor Supply safe from their home that contained about $6,000 in cash, Sheriff Donna Dennison said.
Deputy Paul Pinkham and Detective Don Murray are investigating this burglary and theft.
The department also is investigating the theft of medication from a Warren residence. According to the report filed shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday, approximately 30 4-milligram hydromorphone pills and 10 25-milligram quetiapine pills were missing.
On Saturday afternoon, the department received a report of a storage building being broken into in Owls Head. Miscellaneous boat parts were stolen, most of which would only be good for junk, Dennison said.
