GEORGETOWN, Maine — About 15 people were charged with alcohol offenses early Sunday morning as sheriff’s deputies broke up a party on Ledgemere Road.
Chief Deputy Brett Strout of the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office said a complaint about the party initially was called in to neighboring Lincoln County because the person making the report was unsure which county Georgetown was in.
As deputies arrived at the Ledgemere Road residence at 2:20 a.m., they found a number of young people in possession of alcohol, according to Strout.
Police wound up charging 15 people with possession of alcohol by a minor and one of them, Robert Marconi, 18, also was charged with furnishing a place for minors to consume alcohol, Strout said.
One of the 15 charged was a girl who was released to her mother, and the others who were charged were told to find a place to stay, Strout said.
Deputies were at the residence for about two hours, Strout said.
