BANGOR, Maine — A roughly hour-long power outage that occurred at about 6:30 p.m. affected Emera Maine customers in more than a dozen communities in Hancock and Penobscot counties.

Emera Maine spokesman Bob Potts said the cause of the outage had yet to be determined but repair crews were checking lines in the affected area. About 4,300 customers were without power until service was restored at about 7:30 p.m.

The utility’s website showed the outage affected the following communities: Amherst, Aurora, Clifton, Eastbrook, Ellsworth, Fletcher Landing Township, Fletchers Landing, Great Pond, Hancock, Mariaville, Osborn, Otis, Township 8 and Waltham.
