WINDHAM, Maine — Boston will be in concert Wednesday night at the Bangor Waterfront Pavilion and Thursday night at Meadowbrook in Gilford, New Hampshire.

When the legendary band hits the stage, a teacher from Windham will be on hand living out a dream.

Jeff Neal is a social studies teacher at Windham High, but after school is out, he trades his desk and classroom in for his drums and a stage.

Since 2003, Neal has been the tour drummer for the legendary band Boston.

Neal says it’s the epitome of a lifelong dream.

He started pounding on the drums in middle school and was discovered by the founder of Boston while playing a gig at Sunday River in 2002.

Neal is very excited about playing in front of dozens of family members, friends and many of his students in a venue just two hours from his home town.

Don’t expect him to give up his day job, though. Neal says music is his passion of choice and teaching is his profession of choice.
