PALMYRA, Maine — Two teenagers who had been missing since Tuesday have been located and are safe, according to sheriff’s deputies.

Somerset County Chief Deputy Dale Lancaster would not disclose where the 15-year-old boy and 16-year-old girl were found, but said they were located safely Thursday.

Police were planning on interviewing the teens Thursday, according to Lancaster. Their names were not released because they are juveniles.

The chief deputy said the boy got into an argument with his mother on Monday evening, took the family truck and went and picked up his 16-year-old girlfriend.

The boy’s mother called police around 4 a.m. Tuesday, Lancaster said. He added the boy is from Hartland and the girl is from Palmyra.

Police located the truck Wednesday at Palmyra Golf Course, according to Lancaster.

No other information was available.
