CHESTERVILLE, Maine — A local man was arrested on Independence Day after allegedly firing a shotgun over a woman’s head during a domestic dispute, according to state police.
Officers were called to a Chesterville Hill Road residence at 3 p.m. when it was reported Scott Henry, 44, and the victim had been in an argument that quickly escalated, according to Maine State Police Sgt. Mathew Casavant.
During the altercation, Henry allegedly pointed a shotgun at the woman and fired the weapon over her head, Casavant said.
The victim, who was not injured, subsequently fled the scene.
A state police tactical team and Franklin County sheriff’s deputies went to the home, Casavant said. Henry was taken into custody at 6:30 p.m. and charged with domestic violence criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and domestic violence terrorizing, the sergeant said.
Henry is being held without bail at the Franklin County Detention Center.
