SKOWHEGAN, Maine — Three people were arrested Wednesday afternoon in connection with a theft of prescription drugs from a local homeless shelter, police said Thursday.

A search warrant was executed shortly after 4:30 p.m. at a Main Street residence after Somerset County communications received a call regarding a disturbance, according to Skowhegan Police Chief Ted Blais.

Three individuals, John Donovan, 45, Timothy Timberlake, 51, and Cathy Jo Cinanni, 42, all of Skowhegan, were arrested, Blais said.

A box filled with prescription drugs that were identified as those stolen from the Trinity Homeless Shelter over the weekend was found, according to Blais.

Donovan was charged with unlawful possession of schedule drugs while Timberlake and Cinanni were both arrested on warrants for failing to pay fines, the chief said.

Blais said the case remains under investigation and more charges are expected to be filed. The initial call was regarding two men and a woman fighting, Blais added.

The trio are being held at the Somerset County Jail.
