SCARBOROUGH, Maine — A Dunkin’ Donuts shop on County Road was rammed by a vehicle on Wednesday night in an apparent attempted burglary, according to police.
Scarborough police Officer Glenn Tucker said Friday that the vehicle, a 1997 Toyota Camry, attempted to back into a rear access door around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The officer said the impact caved in the wall, causing between $2,000 and $3,000 in damage. The shop was open for business Friday, according to Tucker.
Tucker said police have recovered the Toyota, which had been reported stolen, and a suspect has been identified. He added that no arrests have been made.
“In reviewing the video surveillance, it’s clearly an intentional act,” Tucker said.
The case remains under investigation.
