ARUNDEL, Maine — A local man was injured Wednesday afternoon after his motorcycle struck a utility pole on Old Post Road, police said.
Shawn Biggar, 47, lost control of his bike around 6 p.m., according to Chief Deputy William King of the York County Sheriff’s Office.
Weather was not a factor in the accident, which occurred prior to Wednesday’s storms, King said.
King said that Biggar was conscious but severely injured when authorities arrived, Biggar was not wearing a helmet.
Biggar’s injuries were not considered life threatening, and he was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland, King said.
Speed was likely a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
