BANGOR, Maine — Organizers announced late Monday afternoon that the Bangor State Fair would shut down Monday evening because of heavy rain and thunderstorms rolling through the area.
In a news release sent just before 5 p.m., organizers said no further fair events would be held that day.
The fair will reopen at noon Tuesday.
