GRAY, Maine — A flash flood warning will remain in effect for western portions of Maine throughout Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Thunderstorms were producing heavy rain over portions of western Franklin and Oxford counties, according to the weather service.

More heavy rain is expected throughout the morning, the weather service said.

In addition, a flood advisory has been issued for Piscataquis County, which is expected to be in effect through 1 p.m.

Excessive runoff from the heavy rain may cause flooding of small creeks and streams.
