PORTLAND, Maine — A Cumberland County Jail work release inmate who went missing Friday afternoon was found Saturday and taken into custody by a Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office detective, according to a news release issued Saturday afternoon by the agency.

Preston Cooper, 50, who works at Ready Seafood in Portland, faces a felony escape charge after he did not show up at work on Friday, according to a report from Portland television station WGME, CBS 13. He was reportedly found walking on Congress Street and has been taken back to the county jail.
