ROCKLAND, Maine — A 60-year-old St. George man will have to repay another man who purchased stolen goods from him.
Robert Milhomme pleaded no contest Monday in Knox County Superior Court to a single count of theft of weightlifting equipment from a woman in St. George. A no contest plea results in a conviction, but the defendant does not have to admit guilt.
The restitution is to benefit the man who paid $500 for the equipment that later was confiscated after police learned it had been stolen.
The equipment had been stolen from a storage unit, and the owner later spotted it for sale on Craigslist. Police learned that the equipment had been sold twice after Milhomme stole it.
