BANGOR, Maine — A Berlin, New Hampshire, man involved in an alleged assault in Bangor earlier this month was arrested Thursday in New Hampshire, police said.

Adam Morton, 27, was involved in an Aug. 2 incident in which a young child suffered serious injuries, according to Bangor police Sgt. Tim Cotton.

An undisclosed household appliance was used in the assault, Cotton said.

Morton was interviewed on Wednesday by Bangor detectives and arrested Thursday, the sergeant said. Berlin police assisted in the arrest, Cotton said.

Morton is charged with aggravated assault and is expected to be returned to Maine in the coming weeks.
