THOMASTON, Maine — A Thomaston man accused of selling painkillers in the midcoast area was arrested Friday on trafficking charges.

Joshua Ross, 27, was charged with trafficking in oxycodone, possession of oxycodone and violating a condition of release, according to a news release from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.

The suspect was arrested following an ongoing investigation by members of the MDEA, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Maine State Police and Thomaston Police Department into allegations Ross was selling the pills, MDEA supervisor James Pease said.

Agents seized 27 oxycodone pills, $1,900 in cash and other drug paraphernalia, according to the MDEA. Ross did not have a prescription for any of the four different brands of pills that were confiscated. The MDEA estimates the value of each 30-milligram pill at $50 on the street.

Ross was taken to the Knox County Jail in Rockland, where he is being held without bail for allegedly violating bail on a charge of operating under the influence, according to the MDEA. Because of the Labor Day holiday, he will not make an initial court appearance in Rockland District Court until Wednesday.
