SEARSMONT, Maine — A Thorndike woman injured in a two-car accident last week has died of her injuries, police said.

Anne Brown, 84, died at Eastern Maine Medical Center earlier this week, according to Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.

Brown was a passenger in a car driven by her 81-year old-husband, Willard. The car pulled onto Route 3 and into the path of another vehicle Aug. 29, according to McCausland.

The second vehicle, driven by Peter Kassen, 58, of Linconville, struck the Browns’ vehicle. Kassen’s wife, Margaret, 57, and their 21-year-old daughter, Hope, were passengers in Kassen’s vehicle, McCausland said.

Willard Brown and the Kassens have been released from hospitals, McCausland said. No charges are expected to be filed.
