ROCKPORT, Maine — Police say they are looking for a man who robbed a pharmacy here Tuesday afternoon.

A robbery was reported shortly after 4:30 p.m. at Kennebec Pharmacy and Home Care. The male suspect fled in a dark-colored station wagon that had been parked at the nearby Oakland Commons medical complex, according to police.

The suspect was a male wearing a blue sweatshirt with a maroon shirt underneath and gray sweatpants.

Rockport Police Chief Mark Kelley said the suspect did not show a weapon. He said employees were being interviewed and were writing up statements. He said a photograph lineup would be shown to the workers. He said at least eight people were in the store at the time of the robbery.

Police did not immediately reveal what was stolen.

Rockland police, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Knox County Sheriff’s Office were working with Rockport police.

“We’re comfortable with the direction the investigation is going,” Kelley said.

The pharmacy is located off Route 1 across from the entrance to Pen Bay Medical Center.
