The whitewash of Ray Rice’s very existence continued Tuesday morning with news that the next Madden 15 video game update from EA Sports would wipe the former Ravens running back from the game.
Rice was cut by the team and suspended indefinitely by the National Football League after video emerged of him knocking his then-fiancee, Janay Palmer, unconscious in an Atlantic City casino.
FoxSports.com and USAToday.com each reported from EA Sports that Rice would be removed from the Ravens roster and the free agency pool in the popular video game
Madden did the same to former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez after he was charged with murder last summer.
ESPN’s Darren Rovell also reported that Rice had been dropped from his endorsement deal with Nike.
Rice has already reportedly been removed from a video montage at Rutgers, and the Ravens are planning jersey exchanges for fans who have his No. 27 jersey.
Details of the jersey exchange are pending.
Rice’s No. 27 jersey was one of the Ravens’ most popular jerseys.
The New England Patriots did a similar jersey exchange last year when they cut tight end Aaron Hernandez after he was arrested and charged with murder.
