ROCKLAND, Maine — A former Warren woman was given a completely suspended 365-day jail term Friday after admitting to harassing her ex-husband, entering his residence without permission on two occasions, and repeatedly violating terms of her bail.

In addition to being required to continue counseling as part of the plea, Christine Starrett, 53, who now lives in Lakeville, is prohibited from being on the Western Road in Warren where her former husband lives.

Charges of stalking, reckless conduct and harassment by telephone were dismissed in exchange for Starrett pleading guilty to two counts of criminal trespass, two counts of harassment and three counts of violating a condition of release.

She spent 19 days in jail in November after being charged with violating terms of release, which barred her from contacting her former husband.

One of the dismissed charges was a count of reckless conduct in which Starrett was accused of trying to force her husband off the road in her vehicle.

Assistant District Attorney Christopher Fernald said the victim supported the agreed-upon outcome in the case.
