Townsquare Media knows the demographics of Bangor are changing — families are moving and expanding and need resources. The digital media and marketing service provider is holding its first Bangor Baby and Family Expo on Sept. 27.
A “one-stop shop” for all things birth, baby and family, event organizers say the expo will give attendees access to a “huge variety of parenting resources.”
Local sales manager Sabrina Colson said the expo will feature businesses and service providers for all things baby and child related, including pediatricians, doulas, clothing and toys, among others. Several vendors, including Back in Balance Chiropractic and Katahdin Pediatrics, will hold workshops as well.
“[Pregnancy] is such an important time in a woman and family’s life, and there are so many resources out there,” Colson said.
She added the company has held many events catered toward women in the past but recently found many women would ask about family-specific businesses or services in the area.
“We’ve had great success with our other vendor events, like the What Women Want Expo,” Colson said. “But we’ve identified certain types of vendors that cater directly to not just women but children and families, and there really is such a growing need.”
She and other organizers hope the event provides families with access to information for whatever stage of life they may be in, whether it’s about signing up for Women Infants and Children benefits or how to start reading with a child.
“We want to provide access to a lot of different resources but also fun activities to help you enjoy your family,” Colson said.
Other vendors scheduled to attend the event include Eastern Maine Medical Center Pediatric Medicine, Green Acres Kennel Shop and Origami Owl among others.
The event is scheduled for 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, and admission is free. It will be held at the Spectacular Event Center, 395 Griffin Road, Bangor. For information, visit the event listing at Q106.5 radio station’s website or call 207-989-5631.
