BREWER — Independent Wrestling Entertainment will return to City Side Restaurant, 393 North Main St., on Saturday, Oct. 4 for Rage in the Cage, featuring the IWE Heavyweight Championship match, “The White Delight” Scotty Wild grappling with Scotty “Won’t Die” Vegas, and the IWE Twin Cities Championship match, “The Chosen One” Joseph Primer facing off with Ace Romero.

Other wrestling favorites on the bill will include “War Machine” Alex Mason, Marq Quen, Good Hank Flanders, “The Concept” Johnny Miyagi, The Captain and many others.

Tickets are $10 for front row seats, $8 general admission.

Basketball day camp

HAMPDEN — MAC Basketball Shooting Day Camp featuring five three-hour sessions will be held Saturday through Monday, Oct. 11-13, at Hampden Recreation gymnasium. Five campers will be assigned to each coach. Session times are 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 3-6 p.m., middle school students; noon-3 p.m. and 6:30-9:30 p.m., high school students.

The cost is $150, which includes a book on shooting, shooting target, pre-testing, post-contest testing, camp T-shirt, videotaping, written evaluation and live demonstrations.

LobsterFest

HAMPDEN — The Friends of Maine Hockey and McLaughlin’s at the Marina will host the LobsterFest with the 2014-2015 University of Maine Men’s Ice Hockey Team on Sunday, Sept. 28, at the marina, 100 Marina Road.

Social hour starts at noon with a cash bar available. Dinner will be served at 1 p.m. A traditional Maine lobster bake with all the fixings, plus dessert, will be served. An alternate meal of prime rib is available.

The entire hockey team will attend the event and be seated at various tables throughout the dining area so guests can enjoy the company of the young athletes and the team can meet some of their fans.

Seating is limited. Reservations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. The cost is $60 per person. Reservation forms are available at goblackbears.com, at the UMaine hockey office and at McLaughlin’s. Please make your reservation by September 16th.

Proceeds raised at this LobsterFest will assist the team in their quest for another national championship.

Sponsorships are available for this event. Your business card-sized ad can be part of the official LobsterFest placemat for a donation of $200.

Double Trouble Trail Race

ORLAND/SULLIVAN — Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust in Orland and Frenchman Bay Conservancy in Sullivan will combine their trail races for the second annual Downeast Double Trouble Trail Race Challenge. The Wildlands Trail Race will take place Sunday, Oct. 26 and the conservancy Autumn Trail Race will be held Sunday, Nov. 2. Participants who run both races are eligible for special prizes. Runners and walkers are encouraged to participate.

Lunch will be available free of charge at both events. Race participants are asked to leave their dogs at home.

Cost for each race is $20 in advance or $25 on race day, or register in advance for both races for $35 by Oct. 12.
