FARMINGTON, Maine — A 27-year-old man was arrested on a gross sexual assault charge late last week, police said.
Josh Austin, 27, is being held at the Franklin County Jail, according to Farmington Police Detective Marc Bowering.
Bowering said the investigation leading up to Austin’s arrest lasted about three weeks. The victim, whose gender was not revealed, was under the age of 18, the detective said.
Bowering added Austin and the victim knew one another.
If convicted of the Class A felony charge, Bowering faces up to 30 years in prison.
