SACO, Maine — A New York man allegedly responsible for robbing a Rite Aid in Saco last week has been arrested, police said Friday.

Scott McMahon, 32, of Lackawanna, New York, was taken into custody shortly before noon Friday at an Ocean Park Road motel, according to Saco Deputy Chief Jeff Holland.

McMahon had been residing at the motel, a Rodeway Inn, according to Holland.

Holland said that investigators had collected physical evidence from several locations, including McMahon’s motel room, the Rite Aid on Main Street and a wooded section adjacent to the motel, where clothing had been discarded.

No weapon was displayed in the robbery. McMahon was unable to post $10,000 bail and was taken to the York County Jail.
