BANGOR, Maine — A woman injured in a hit-and-run accident earlier this month has died of her injuries, police said Monday.
Robin Rie, 59, of Brewer died of her injuries on Friday, Chief Deputy Troy Morton of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office said.
Morton said the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed Rie’s death with police on Monday.
On Sept. 13, Rie was turning from Route 15 in Orrington, known locally as River Road, in to a vegetable stand when her vehicle was struck by a sedan operated by Marc Sparks, 29, of Bucksport.
Sparks stopped momentarily before leaving the scene, and his vehicle was later located in Bucksport.
The accident remains under investigation and is being forwarded to the Penobscot County District Attorney’s office for review, Morton said.
