The Bangor Daily News and SportsNet Maine are collaborating to live stream local high school football this fall, starting with the Gardiner Tigers visiting the Hampden Broncos on Friday, Sept. 26.
Games will be streamed live on bangordailynews.com, and then replayed the following Tuesday evening on Time Warner Cable, Channel 9, at 8 p.m. Games will also be available for on-demand online replay at SportsNetMaine.com.
The streaming schedule for the season is set, but also subject to late changes.
- Sept. 26: Gardiner at Hampden
- Oct. 3: Windham at Bangor
- Oct. 10: Cony at Hampden
- Oct. 17: Bucksport at Mattanawcook
- Oct. 24: Oxford Hills at Bangor
- Oct. 30: Orono vs. John Bapst
SportsNet Maine is a Bangor-based video and digital production company, specializing in live broadcasts of athletics and other events. The Bangor Daily News is Maine’s most-read media outlet, in print and online.
For the last year, the two companies have collaborated on live streaming high school athletics and covering major athletic tournaments. Officials from both companies said this six-game football schedule is a natural evolution of their growing partnership.
“SportsNet Maine has produced top-notch, TV-quality broadcasts for our online audience,” said Anthony Ronzio, director of news and audience for the BDN. “I’m looking forward to the great job they’ll do for viewers with this upcoming slate of games.”
