ELLSWORTH, Maine — A 40-year-old woman was charged Wednesday after allegedly stealing a credit card from her former employer and using it to make purchases totaling $1,826.
Police charged Heather Hunter of Ellsworth with theft, forgery and misuse of a credit card. She was issued a summons to appear in court on Nov. 18.
Hunter is a former employee of Eyes Inc., an Ellsworth optometry business, according to Ellsworth police Lt. Harold Page. She stole the credit card when she left employment there, then used it to make purchases in the Ellsworth and Bangor areas, he said.
Detective Dorothy Small recognized Hunter as the woman recorded in videos using the card, according to police.
The incidents occurred between Aug. 22 and Sept. 16, according to Page.
