ROCKLAND, Maine — Two people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after a car crash Thursday afternoon.
According to Deputy Rockland Police Chief Wally Tower, Thad Grotton, 66, of Rockland was driving a 2002 Kia south on Old County Road near the S-curve by the Rockland Golf Club at about 1 p.m. Thursday. Grotton fell asleep and the car went off the road. The vehicle struck some small trees and bushes before striking a larger tree.
Grotton and his passenger, Jennifer Grotton, were taken to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport. Jennifer Grotton complained of head and neck pain, according to police.
Damage to the car was estimated at $3,000.
