New to the firm

BANGOR — Eaton Peabody announced that it has welcomed attorney Eric C. Marshall to the firm. Marshall will be resident in the firm’s Bangor office and will join the business practice group.

Marshall comes to Eaton Peabody from Chicago, where he has been a business lawyer at a large law firm, a shareholder at a mid-sized firm, and in-house counsel at a global energy and natural resources company. HIs practice focuses on new business formation, debt and equity financing, business acquisitions, cooperative ventures, and general commercial contracting. He works with start-up companies, family-owned businesses, and divisions of global corporations. Eric spent three years as in-house counsel in Geneva, Switzerland, where he was lead attorney on European chemical industry joint ventures, corporate acquisitions and commercial transactions.

Marshall received a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School and a bachelor’s degree from Yale University.

New staff member

BANGOR — American Loggers Insurance announced that Donald Curtis has joined the staff as senior loss control consultant. He will assist with strategic aspects of risk control, development of programs and engineering controls at the company.

Curtis is a licensed professional engineer with a degree in mechanical engineering, specializing in fire protection and safety aspects of engineering. He also spent 25 years as a part-time firefighter, rising to the rank of assistant chief, and serving as a Maine State Fire Training instructor, teaching hands-on and degree courses to other firefighters.
