BLAINE, Maine — A local man has been arrested and charged with possessing child pornography, according to the Maine State Police.
Robert D. Kinney Jr., 40, was arrested at his Robinson Road home Friday and charged with possession of sexually explicit material of someone under the age of 12, according to a press release issued Monday afternoon.
State police began investigating Kinney after receiving a tip, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland reported in the release.
A search of his electronic devices at his home showed graphic photos of infants being sexually molested, McCausland said. None of the children in the images are believed to be from Maine.
Kinney, who lives at the home with his wife and two children, was arrested by members of the state police computer crimes unit. Kinney’s computers were seized and will be analyzed.
He was taken to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.
