WARREN, Maine — Police were at the scene of a head-on car crash on U.S. Route 1 Monday afternoon that required officers to close the road and to call in a LifeFlight helicopter.
The crash occurred at about 3 p.m. on Route 1 near Lewis Farm Equipment, south of the intersection of Route 90, according to Knox County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Tim Carroll.
He said a LifeFlight helicopter arrived and would be taking one person to a hospital.
One of the vehicles was a truck towing a camper trailer, Carroll said.
