LEWISTON, Maine — A 4-year-old boy has his cat back after the two became separated during last week’s fire on Birch Street.
During the fire on Sept. 24, Noah Coate’s mother says when her son realized his cat Bella was still inside the burning building, she had to hold him from running back inside.
Firefighters found Bella under an overturned couch — dirty, but otherwise okay.
Jackie McBurnie, Noah’s mother, says it’s been a long week without their furry friend as they found temporary housing and started to get back on their feet after losing everything. They were able to get Bella back Thursday.
