CASTINE, Maine – Drew Frenette completed 27 of 38 passes for 408 yards and four touchdowns on Saturday afternoon, leading Endicott College to a 45-28 New England Football Conference win over Maine Maritime Academy at Ritchie Field.
Frenette threw a 15-yard scoring pass to Dimitri Skinsac, hooked up with Brett Egizi on TD tosses of 27 and 5 yards, and hit Jake Pelletier on a 36-yarder for the 3-2 Gulls.
Nate Lewis made 12 receptions for 172 yards and Lavante Wiggins picked up 132 rushing yards on 22 carries and scored once for Endicott, which built a 31-21 halftime advantage.
The visitors amassed 555 total yards.
Jacob Doolan spearheaded the offense for Maine Maritime Academy (1-3), racking up 219 yards on 21 carries, including touchdown runs of 64 and 4 yards. He also caught two passes for 102 yards, scoring on an 86-yard reception.
Quarterback Michael Fahey carried 31 times for 142 yards and threw for 141 yards on 4-for-10 accuracy.
John Doyon led the Mariners with 12 tackles, while Johnny Weymouth, Thomas Kinton and Collin Joyce racked up 11 tackles apiece.
Wesleyan 28, Colby 7
At Waterville, Wesleyan University took advantage of two Colby College turnovers to stay unbeaten with a NESCAC victory over the Mules on Seaverns Field at Harold Alfond Stadium.
The Panthers (3-0) scored all the points they would need in the first quarter on Kyle Gibson’s 17-yard touchdown run and an 18-yard scoring pass from Jesse Warren to Jon Day.
Warren passed for 157 yards on 13-for-21 accuracy and Jay Fabien caught five passes for 80 yards. Gibson ran for 81 yards on 24 carries.
Colby (0-3) was paced by Jabari Hurdle, who carried 26 times for 101 yards and had a 7-yard scoring run. Gabe Harrington completed 17 of 42 throws for 118 yards and Ryder Arsenault made five catches for 37 yards.
