OAKFIELD, Maine — More than 2800 Emera Maine customers in Oakfield were without power on Saturday evening after an accident in the southern Aroostook County community.
Susan Faloon, spokeswoman for Emera Maine, said late Saturday evening that a tractor-trailer struck a pole just before 9 p.m. on River Road in Oakfield, causing the outage.
The crash impacted a transmission line serving customers south of Houlton.
The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department and Maine State Police were at the scene of the crash to investigate.
