BANGOR — The 2014 – 2015 Bangor Ballet season will open Nov. 16 with the holiday favorite, “Nutcracker in a Nutshell.” The company’s 21 season will feature four full-length productions in 11 public performances and four in-school presentations.

Public performances of “Nutcracker in a Nutshell” will be held Nov. 16 at Center Theatre in Dover-Foxcroft, Nov. 22-33 at the Gracie Theatre in Bangor and Dec. 6 at the Bucksport Performing Arts Center.

An evening of original choreography, billed as “Cabin Fever Reliever,” will occur on Jan. 10 at the Gracie Theatre. The evening’s performance with contributions by Bangor Ballet alumni will be followed by a reception in the Atrium with choreographers and performers.

Spring 2015 will see two full-length ballets, “The Little Mermaid” in March and, in mid-June, the very classical “Les Sylphides,” with an additional ballet yet to be announced.

Single ticket prices are $15, $10 seniors and students, and $8 children age 12 and under. This season Bangor Ballet is offering the option of purchasing season tickets, which admits subscribers to all four productions at a discount.
