BANGOR, Maine — A pair of veteran state troopers will receive promotions to the rank of lieutenant in a ceremony at the Maine Avenue barracks on Tuesday.
Sean Hashey has been tabbed as Troop E’s new lieutenant, spokesman Stephen McCausland said, while Troy Gardner will become the new lieutenant of the northern Major Crimes unit.
Both currently hold the rank of sergeant and are 20-year veterans of the State Police.
Hashey will succeed Lt. Wesley Hussey, who recently announced his retirement, while Gardner will succeed Lt. Chris Coleman, who also retired and is now the police chief in Ellsworth.
The promotions will follow an inspection of troopers who patrol in the northern third of the state. The inspection starts at 10 a.m. with the promotions at 2 p.m.
