LIMINGTON, Maine — A local man suffered serious injuries Wednesday night after losing control of his pickup truck on Route 25, according to police.

Dale Cabral, 21, lost control of the truck shortly after 9:30 p.m., according to Chief Deputy William King of the York County Sheriff’s Office.

King said Cabral was ejected from his truck and was found approximately 10 feet from the vehicle. Cabral was the lone occupant.

The chief deputy said Cabral was traveling west on Route 25 when his truck veered to the right and left the road, sideswiping a utility pole. The truck continued into a wooded area and struck several small trees before reaching the front yard of a residence and striking a large pine tree.

Cabral suffered injuries considered life-threatening and he was flown by LifeFlight helicopter to Maine Medical Center in Portland, King said. No information on his condition was available.

Police believe speed was a factor in the accident, which remains under investigation.
