LEWISTON, Maine — The man Lewiston police say ran down his pregnant girlfriend is due in court next week.
Evaristo Deus is charged with murder and is being held without bail. He is accused of hitting Laudrinha Kubeloso with his car, then leaving the scene of the incident last month.
Police found him in New York, aboard an airplane scheduled to travel to Haiti.
An arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 15. He is expected to plead not guilty.
