BANGOR, Maine — A U.S. Airways flight from Brussels to Philadelphia was diverted to Bangor International Airport for a short period because of severe weather conditions, the company’s website states.

“Due to weather conditions between Brussels Airport and Philadelphia International Airport, flight delays are now in effect to maintain a consistent flow of air traffic,” the site states. “This flight has been delayed and is being diverted to Bangor.”

The Boeing 757 twin jet landed in Bangor at around noon, according to FlightAware.com, an online flight-tracking system.

The flight continued on after a short stop, the U.S. Airways website states.

“The flight from Bangor is en route to Philadelphia International Airport and will arrive at 2 p.m.,” it states.

According to the U.S. Airways flight schedule, there are two flights daily between Brussels and Philadelphia.
