THROGGS NECK, New York — Luke Washburn made six tackles, including two for a loss of yardage, and recovered two fumbles as Husson University limited SUNY Maritime to 97 yards of total offense while posting a 40-0 Eastern Collegiate Football Conference victory on Saturday afternoon.

Washburn returned one of the fumbles 21 yards for a touchdown for the Eagles (3-1, 2-0 ECFC), who afforded the Privateers (1-4, o-2 ECFC) only seven first downs while holding the hosts to minus-2 rushing yards in a dominating performance.

Jeff Turcotte also made six tackles for Husson, which received plenty of offensive support in the win.

John Smith ran for 153 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries for the Eagles, while quarterback Joe Seccareccia carried nine times for 51 yards and a score and completed four of 13 passes for 30 yards.

Smith put Husson on the board with a 60-yard scoring dash in the first quarter, then provided a 10-yard TD run in the second period.

Husson also received a 7-yard touchdown scamper from Kyle McKinnon and Seccareccia had a four-yard scoring run. Shabashe McIntosh returned a punt 55 yards for a touchdown to complete the scoring in the third quarter.

Kevin Monahan completed 10 of 22 passes for 84 yards to lead SUNY Maritime.

Amherst 35, Colby 10

At Amherst, Massachusetts, the Lord Jeffs scored 21 third-quarter points en route to a New England Small College Athletic Conference victory over the Mules.

Quarterbacks Max Lippe and Reece Foy combined to complete 13 of 28 passes for 195 yards and a pair of TDs and Nick Kelley gained 110 yards on 16 carries to spearhead the offense for Amherst (4-0).

Raheem Jackson turned in two 1-yard scoring runs for the hosts.

Colby received a 42-yard TD pass from Gabe Harrington to Nick Joseph and a 46-yard field goal by Louw Scheepers.

Harrington finished by going 17-for-29 for 216 yards but he was intercepted three times. Mbasa Mayikana made five receptions for 40 yards and Jabari Hurdle-Price picked up 66 yards on 22 carries.

Ryan Ruiz and Henry Nelson collected 11 tackles each for Colby.
