ROCKLAND — Preston Spear racked up 198 yards on 14 carries and scored touchdowns on runs of 9, 65 and 21 yards to propel Oceanside to a 36-26 high school football victory over Mt. Ararat of Topsham on Friday night.
Ryan Allender completed 5 of 9 passes for 75 yards, including a 16-yard TD strike to put the Mariners (2-4) ahead 14-6 just before halftime. Elvis Bowen intercepted Dylan Johnson’s pass in the end zone and returned it 102 yards for a score for Oceanside.
The Eagles (1-5), who rushed for 271 yards, were paced by Donte Dangerfield who had touchdown runs of 49, 25 and 40 yards.

At Belfast on Friday, Noah Kershner rushed 28 times for 139 yards and a touchdown to lead Nokomis of Newport past the Lions.
Tyler Provencher added two touchdowns on 20 carries for 93 yards for the Warriors.
For Belfast, Steven Davis rushed 9 times for 211 yards and two touchdowns.
Bucksport 27, Orono 14
At Bucksport, Matthew Stewart passed for 2-yard touchdown and ran for another as Bucksport defeated Orono.
Jack Cyr rushed 28 times for 190 yards and also had a 75-yard kickoff return for a TD to open the game for the 4-1 Golden Bucks. Hayden Craig caught both TD passes.
For 3-2 Orono, Matt Fowler had an 8-yard TD run and a 3-yard TD run.

MCI 25, Mattanawcook 15
At Lincoln on Friday night, a rematch of last season’s Eastern Maine semifinal saw Maine Central Institute defeat Mattanawcook Academy.
MCI (6-0) got on the board first with a Greg Vigue to Mitchell Hallee 5-yard touchdown pass after the Lynx failed to field a punt at their own 30-yard line. MA (3-2) lost 4 fumbles on the night.
The Lynx took a 7-6 lead in the second quarter on Carter Ward’s 26-yard TD pass to to Gunner Maxwell. However, MCI took a 12-7 halftime lead with an 18-play, 73-yard drive, capped by Vigue’s 4-yard TD pass to Austin Tolman with four seconds left in the half.
MA opened the second half by scoring on a 27-yard scoring strike from Ward to Maxwell and took a 15-12 lead.
MCI went back in front for keeps on a 7-yard touchdown pass from Vigue to Tolman, then added Alex Bertrand’s 1-yard TD plunge. Bertrand finished with 52 yards rushing. Hallee made 6 receptions for 99 yards and a TD. Vigue completed 17 of 28 passes for 230 yards and three TDs while Tolman caught five passes for 58 yards.
Edwin Ritchie had four catches for 58 yards for the Lynx. Ward completed 9 of 17 passes for 144 yards and two TDs while Maxwell caught five passes for 86 yards and two TDs.

At Alumni Field in Millinocket Friday night, senior running back Marc Morneault ran for 214 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries to lead the Minutemen to an exhibition victory over Medomak Valley of Waldoboro.
Stearns (3-2) returns to countable regular season action Saturday at Dexter while the Panthers will travel to Washington Academy.
