ELLSWORTH, Maine — For the third time in as many months, local police have charged several people with underage drinking after breaking up a party where teenagers were consuming alcohol.

The latest incident occurred around 11 p.m. Saturday at a home on Hallbrook Road, according to a police summary report of the incident. Ten people were charged with possession of alcohol by a minor.

One of them, Brandon Braley, 19, also was arrested on a charge of furnishing a place for minors to consume alcohol, police said.

Three 18-year-olds, who are considered adults under state law, each were summoned on a charge of illegal possession of alcohol. They are Morgan Card and Sidney St. Peter, both of Ellsworth, and Finn McMahon of Surry, according to police.

Juveniles charged as a result of the bust include two 17-year-old girls, one from Lamoine and the other from Tremont, and a 17-year-old boy from Hancock. Two girls from Bar Harbor, one who is 16 and one who is 15, and a 16-year-old boy from Ellsworth also were summoned on illegal possession charges.

In recent months, police twice have summoned more than a dozen people under the age of 21 after officers have busted up a local underage drinking party. On Aug. 3, 23 people were summoned when police interrupted a party on Garden Street. On Sept. 6, 16 teenagers were summoned on underage drinking charges when police broke up a party on Bayside Road near Pioneer Way.
