BANGOR, Maine — Approximately 80 youngsters from Greater Bangor turned out at Mansfield Stadium in Bangor on Monday to participate in a free youth clinic conducted by coaches and players from the University of Maine and Husson University in Bangor.
The players, ages 6 to 13, went through several stations covering baseball fundamentals, with representatives of the two programs doing the instruction. The three-hour event facilitated by the Mansfield Stadium crew, ended with Wiffle Ball games.
“It was a beautiful day, so why not take advantage of the weather and do some instruction,” UMaine head coach Steve Trimper said. “It’s real nice to see kids in the community playing fall baseball.”
