PERU, Maine — Prosecutors say a Peru man sexually assaulted and killed his mother-in-law on Saturday in front of his 6-year-old daughter.
Paul Orchard, 33, is facing murder charges in the death of Paula Nuttall, 57, in their Peru home.
According to an affidavit obtained by our media partners at the Sun Journal, prosecutors say Orchard’s daughter saw her father sexually assault and attack Nuttall.
Court documents state that Nuttall asked the girl to hit Orchard with a bottle, which she did. The affidavit also says Orchard was covered in polyurethane and he claimed he was high on the vapors.
