BRUNSWICK, Maine — A 70-year-old Woolwich woman was in critical condition Wednesday afternoon after being struck by a van while she was crossing Maine Street.
Shirley Roth was in a crosswalk near the intersection of Maine and Noble streets when she was struck by the side mirror of a van and knocked to the ground just after 1 p.m., Brunswick Police Deputy Chief Marc Hagan said.
Roth was taken to Maine Medical Center for treatment of a head injury.
The driver of the 2004 GMC van, 31-year-old Adam Lindstrom of Lewiston, was issued a summons for failing to yield the right of way.
The northbound lane of Maine Street was closed for about 30 minutes.
